Biography

Historic (Confirmed)

Ma Dai was a cousin of Ma Chao, a famous officer of Shu-Han. (de Crespigny 641) In the year AD 234, Zhuge Liang died. (1) Thereafter, Wei Yan and Yang Yi, two generals of Shu-Han, disagreed on the proper course of action to follow with regard to continuing Zhuge Liang’s campaigns. Both generals labeled each other traitors, but Wei Yan eventually lost support. Yang Yi dispatched Ma Dai to pursue and kill Wei Yan, which Ma Dai was able to do successfully. (2)
