Biography

Historic (Confirmed)

Lady Wang, native of Langya, was one of Sun Quan’s wives. Having found favor with Sun Quan during the Huangwu years she gave birth to Sun He. Sun Quan’s love to her was only second to that for Lady Bu. With the death of Lady Bu, Sun He was made crown prince.

Sun Quan was going to make Lady Wang his queen, but Princess Quan detested her and spread rumors. When Sun Quan took to illness and was bedridden, Princess Quan told him that Lady Wang seemed pleased. Quan reprimanded Lady Wang severely and as a result she took to depression, and soon died. When Sun He’s son, Sun Hao, became established he bestowed upon her the posthumous rank of Empress and her younger brothers were enfeoffed as Marquis. (1)
