Biography
Jiang Xu held the rank of Commander of Licheng when his cousin Yang Fu, who had recently been defeated and captured by Ma Chao, came to visit. Jiang Xu agreed to help Yang Fu. Gathering his men Jiang Xu camped at Li Cheng while two of his officers went to Qishan.
Jiang Xu’s force was dressed in all white as they faced Ma Chao, Jiang Xu attacking Ma Chao in both the front and the rear with the force at Qishan. The appearance of Xiahou Yuan’s army forced Ma Chao to flee but his city had gone back to Wei. Ma Chao would get into Licheng and kill Jiang Xu’s mother before going to the west. Jiang Xu was assigned to the defence of the west with Xiahou Yuan.
