Biography

Historic (Confirmed)

Dong Fu was a native of Guanghan and pupil of the famed scholar Yang Xu. Both he and another student, Ren An, traveled to Luoyang to learn at the Imperial Academy. They also studied charts and prophesies under Yang Xu.

Dong Fu was eventually appointed as a palace attendant under Emperor Ling. While serving in this capacity, he predicted the fall of the Han Dynasty. At the time, he told Liu Yan that a Son of Heaven would come from Yi Province. Liu Yan hoped to capitalize on this prediction, and moved to Yi. Dong Fu served Liu Yan for a short time, but soon resigned. For the remainder of his life, he taught students in Yi.
