Dynasty Warriors 6: Character Unlocking Guide

This guide provides instructions on how to unlock the different officers in Dynasty Warriros 6. For the most part, officers in this game fall into three categories: officers available from game start ‘initially available’, officers unlocked by completing one or more characters’ musou modes, or officers unlocked by completing a stage on a specific side having fulfilled a certain battle objective. It does not matter what difficulty you play on when unlocking officers. Please note that some officers were actually cut from Dynasty Warriors 6 and no new officers have been added. Removed officers have been noted to alleviate confusion.
Wei Officers
Cao Cao (Mengde): Clear musou mode with three Wei officers.
Cao Pi (Zihuan): Complete battle objective 1.
Battle of He Fei (Sun Jian)
Cao Ren (Zixiao): Complete battle objective 2.
Battle of Fan Castle (Lü Bu)
Dian Wei: Initially Available.
Pang De (Lingming): Removed from Dynasty Warriors 6.
Sima Yi (Zhongda): Initially Available.
Xiahou Dun (Yuanrang): Initially Available.
Xiahou Yuan (Miaocai): Complete battle objective 1.
Battle of Mt. Ding Jun (Shu)
Xu Zhu (Zhongkang): Complete battle objective 1.
Battle of He Fei (Wu)
Xu Huang (Gongming): Complete battle objective 2.
Battle of Fan Castle (Wei/Wu)
Zhang He (Junyi): Complete battle objective 2.
Battle of Han Zhong (Shu)
Zhang Liao (Wenyuan): Clear musou mode with one Wei officer.
Zhen Ji: Complete battle objective 1.
Invasion of Xu Du (Lü Bu)

Guan Ping: Complete battle objective 2.
Battle of Fan Castle (Shu)
Guan Yu (Yunchang): Initially Available.
Huang Zhong (Hansheng): Complete battle objective 1.

Liu Bei (Xuande): Clear musou mode with three Shu officers.
Ma Chao (Mengqi): Complete battle objective 2.

Yue Ying: Complete battle objective 1.

Gan Ning (Xingba): Clear musou mode with one Wu officer.
Huang Gai (Gongfu): Complete battle objective 3.

Diao Chan: Clear musou mode with one character from each of Wei, Shu and Wu.
Dong Zhuo (Zhongying): Complete battle objective 1.
Battle of Hu Lao Gate (Lü Bu Scenario)
Lu Bu (Fengxian): Clear musou mode with Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Sun Jian and Diaochan.
Meng Huo: Removed from Dynasty Warriors 6.
Yuan Shao (Benchu): Complete battle objective 3.
Battle of Guan Du (Cao Cao Scenario)
Zhang Jiao: Complete battle objective 3.
Yellow Turban Rebellion (Allied Army)
Zhu Rong: Removed from Dynasty Warriors 6.
Zuo Ci (Yuanfang): Removed from Dynasty Warriors 6.
