Romance of the Three Kingdoms VII, a multiplayer kingdom management strategy game, is the seventh installation in Koei’s historic simulation series, Romance of the Three Kingdoms. You assume the role of an officer, rising through the ranks, or ruler (created or historic) as you manage your kingdom, officers, relations and economy, draft troops and wage war—all in a bid to restore unity to China.

Characters and events in Romance of the Three Kingdoms VII are inspired by the namesake novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Sanguo Yanyi; 三国演义), written in the Ming Dynasty, 14th century, by famous Chinese author Luo Guanzhong. Events in Romance of the Three Kingdoms are, in majority, based on historic government records from the Three Kingdoms era of Chinese history—a chaotic period marred with civil war as famous warlords fought amongst themselves for control of China—and further romanticized through storytelling, folklore, and the mind of a brilliant author.

Section Updates

11/13/06: The Gameshark Guide to Custom Skills, which was created when this page was first put online and never updated due to its unique code complexity and layout, has been remade [read: hacked] into our modern template. It should be much easier for you to use now.

8/3/02: I have created a reference table with instructions that allow anyone with a GameShark to determine the starting skills of a created officer. This is great for everyone that creates his or her officers based off a certain theme (e.g. role-playing characters). Some people may find it to be pretty complex, but if you closely follow the instructions you should not have any problems. The items page has been updated as well.
