Jiang Qin was the leader of a volunteer force that aligned itself with Sun Ce in the battle of Qu’e. Sun Ce admired his spirit and dedication and made Jiang Qin his assistant.

During his lifetime, Jiang Qin participated in many battles for Wu. Though many details are unclear, we can derive from the historical accords that Jiang Gongyi held many titles and ranks.

During Sun Ce’s campaign against the Lords of the southland, he held the title of Auxiliary Corps Commanding Officer, Commander of the West and Commander of the Imperial Corps.

For his participation in attack and defense missions against the southern tribes, Jiang Qin was promoted to Commander Who Attacks the Yue Minorities. During Lu Xun and Lü Meng’s invasion of Jing Zhou, Jiang Qin personally led a battalion of specially trained marines. On the way back to the capital however, Jiang Qin died of natural causes.
