=== 2. Important Info ===
=========================

This guide includes only mission synopsis and this is a translation from the
information on the Bahamut message board.

I need English translations of the mission titles. Right now, I'm translating
from the Japanese version of the game.

There are two main hidden attributes in this mode: the "good-heartedness"
rating, and the relationship with each officer. These will determine what will
happen in each mission that you choose to play.

This is by no means the final version. Please provide me with inputs.

============================
=== 3. Types of Missions ===
============================

There are a total of 13 different kinds of missions.

1. There have been reports of a [item] in this area.
(You can get that item when you do a favour for an ally officer's, or you
use the "Heaven's Eye" that you can buy from the shop to discover the hidden
supply troops.)
2. Mountain bandits are plundering.
(You need to have a low "good-heartedness" rating for this type of mission
to appear.)
3. There is a Bandit Fortress in this area.
4. There is a battle here, [officer] has set up camp in this area.
5. It is said that [officer] has disappeared here.
6. There is a monster terrorizing people in this region...
7. There is a well guarded supply base here.
8. [officer] is currently in this area with some companions.
(The officer will appear as allies and may task the player.)
9. Here are many troops on guard in this area.
10. Hidden supply troops (must use "Heaven's Eye")
11. There is currently little information on this area.
(could be any of the above missions)
12. The prefect is not in his castle, and it should not be too defended. This
is a Kingdom Creation Mission.
(appears in missions of multiples of five and you do not have a capital
yet.)
13. [officer] has lead troops into [player]'s Kingdom. This is a Kingdom
Defense Mission.
(appears in missions of multiples of five and you have a capital.)

=== 4. Mission-type specific events ===
=======================================

1. There have been reports of a [item] in this area.
You can get that item when you do a favour for an ally officer's, or you
use the "Heaven's Eye" that you can buy from the shop to discover the hidden
supply troops.

2. Mountain bandits are plundering.
You need to have a low "good-heartedness" rating for this type of mission
to appear.

A mountain bandit begins as an ally, and he asks you to destroy some supply
troops when you approach him.
-- The "good-heartedness" rating increases towards normal when after the
mission began.
-- If you destroy the supply troops according to the plan, your
"good-heartedness" rating decreases.
-- If you destroy the enemy mountain bandit leader, your "good-heartedness"
rating increases.
-- Defeat the supply troops without approaching the ally mountain bandit
first, your "good-heartedness" rating also decreases.

3. There is a Bandit Fortress in this area.
-- Your "good-heartedness" rating increases after clearing the stage.

4. There is a battle here, [officer] has set up camp in this area.
    Takes place outside your capital.

One of Zhang Liao, Lu Xun, Guan Yu and Yuan Shao will ask you to defeat the
enemy commander.
-- Upon fulfilling the favour, you receive an item, or 1000 rank points, or
the officer joins your team.
-- Upon fulfilling the favour, your relationship with that officer increases.
-- If you have had bad relationship with the client, he will switch sides and
attack you instead of asking you for a favour.

5. It is said that [officer] has disappeared here.
An ally officer is caught by a mountain bandit or an enemy officer and is
jailed inside a fort.

Rescue the ally officer by defeating whoever is guarding him/her.
-- Upon rescue, you receive an item, or 500 rank points, or the officer joins
your team.
-- Upon rescue, your "good-heartedness" rating increases.

6. There is a monster terrorizing people in this region...
    Appears only after Mission 3.
Monsters can be one of super-charged Lu Bu, an officer on an elephant, or
several juggernauts.
If you defeat the officer mounted on an elephant and then ride on the
elephant for a while, Zhu Rong will appear as enemy reinforcements.

-- Defeat the montser, your "good-heartedness" rating increases.
-- Defeat the montser, you receive an item, or 1000 rank points.
-- Defeat the juggernauts, you receive 500 rank points.
-- Defeat super-charged Lu Bu, you receive 1000 rank points.

7. There is a well guarded supply base here.
    Takes place outside your capital.
After approaching your client, he will ask you to destory some supply
troops.
If you have had bad relationship with the client, he will switch sides and
attack you instead of asking you for a favour.

When you approach the area specified by your client, there will be ambush
parties as well as some supply troops. The favour is done when you defeat the
supply troops.
-- Upon fulfilling the favour, you receive an item, or 1000 rank points, or
the officer joins your team.
-- Upon fulfilling the favour, your relationship with that officer increases.
-- If you betray your client after he asks you for the favour, your
relationship with that officer decreases.

8. [officer] is currently in this area with some companions.
    [Officer] will be your ally.
If your "good-heartedness" rating is very low, or you have had bad
relationships with [officer], he/she will switch sides and attack you. Your
"good-heartedness" rating will increase towards normal when that happens.
You can approach [officer] and attack him/her. He/she will switch sides
and your "good-heartedness" rating and your relationship with [officer] will
both decrease.
If [officer] is in trouble and you help him/her, you receive an item or 500
rank points.

9. Here are many troops on guard in this area.
This is straight forward hack and slash. There will be

12. The prefect is not in his castle, and it should not be too defended. This
is a Kingdom Creation Mission.
Appears in missions of multiples of five and you do not have a capital yet.
Mission details depend on your "good-heartedness" rating.

13. [officer] has lead troops into [player]'s Kingdom. This is a Kingdom
Defense Mission.
Appears in missions of multiples of five and you have a capital.
If you do not choose it, you could lose your capital.
Mission details depend on your "good-heartedness" rating.
Bonus rank points = 500 x number of remaining ally armies.
A supply captain carrying one rare item appears between 1 and 5 minutes
from mission start with the enemy commander still alive, and it'll stay around
the enemy commander for a while. It will flee immediately if damaged.

===========================================
=== 5. Non-mission-type specific events ===
===========================================

These can take place in more than one mission types.

A. Kidnapping
If Cao Cao, Dong Zhuo, Yuan Shao, Zhang Jiao or Meng Huo begin as your
ally, you will be asked to do some kidnapping when you approach him:
-- Cao Cao wants Da Qiao.
-- Dong Zhuo wants Xiao Qiao.
-- Yuan Shao wants Diao Chan.
-- Zhang Jiao wants Zhu Rong (sometimes Sun Shang Xiang or even Zhen Ji).
-- Meng Huo wants Lu Xun (as his advisor).

When you approach the target, it will turn red. It will turn back to blue
when you reduce his/her HP to a half. Approach the client again to hand over
the kidnappee, and both will retreat.
-- If you bring the target to the client, you will receive either an item or
1000 rank points. Your "good-heartedness" rating decreases. Your relationship
with the client increases, your relationship with the target decreases.
-- If you betray your client and defeat him, Your relationship with the client
decreases, your relationship with the target increases.
-- If you kidnapped the target but do not return to the client, and you have
fewer than three followers, the target will join you.
-- If you have had bad relationship with the client, he will switch sides and
attack you instead of asking you for the job.

B. Yellow Turban Base
    Appears after Mission 11.
Zhang Jiao is the enemy commander. Tons of YT sorceresses and phantom
troops on the stage.
You can use the "Heaven's Eye" to discover the officer who's controlling
the phantom troops. Defeat him and the phantom troops will disappear.
If Zhang Jiao is in your team, or you are Zhang Jiao, then this event will
not happen.

C. Wiping out mountain bandits
Appears when your "good-heartedness" rating is high.
The clients are either Xu Zhu, Sun Shang Xiang or Ma Chao. They will ask
you to defeat the mountain bandit leader. Defeat him to fulfill the request.

-- If you fulfill the request, you will receive either an item or 1000 rank
points, or the client will join you.
-- Your relationship with the client increases.
-- If you betray your client and defeat him/her, Your relationship with the
client decreases.
-- If you have had bad relationship with the client, he will switch sides and
attack you instead of asking you for the job.

D. Ally reinforcements
If your relationship with an officer is high, he/she may appear as ally
reinforcements in kingdom-building or kingdom-defense battles.
-- All ally troops' morale increases.
-- The relationship rating is reset after the battle.

E. Enemy reinforcements
If your relationship with an officer is low, he/she may appear as enemy
reinforcements in kingdom-building or kingdom-defense battles.
-- The relationship rating is reset after the battle.

F. Stalkers
If your "good-heartedness" rating is really low, a super-charged officer
will appear and stalk you. The degree of super-charge depends on the
"good-heartedness" rating.
-- After the stalkers appear, your "good-heartedness" rating will increase
slightly towards normal.

G. Ordinary enemy reinforcements
Often appears on stages with few initially spawned enemies.

----------------------
B. Mission Variations
----------------------
There is a large city here, with many travellers.
-Many officers and units might beable to be hired.

It is said a supply unit is secretly moving goods here.
-Need the Eye of Heaven to see the hidden Supply Captains, random items,
swords, and shields.

There are many swords and shields sold here.
-Lots of swords and shields to be bought, usually no officer or units. Few
meat buns.

A store is closing down here, they will be selling cheap."
-Few things for purchase but are about 1/3 of the normal price.

"Meat Buns are very cheap here."
-Pretty much as said, they are probably 1/4 to 1/2 normal price.

"Ointment is always available here, but at a high price."
-Ointment on the list along with 2-3 meat buns, ointment will cost 1.5 to 2
times normal price.

------------------
C. Units for Hire
------------------
-Note: A "unit" denotes 1 lead unit, and 4 sub-units, eg: First Bow, 4
Archers.

Conscripts:
6 units total.
Lead Unit: Sergeant; Sub-Unit: Private - Medium HP.

Archers:
6 units total.
Lead Unit: First Bow; Sub-Unit: Archer - Low HP. Easily killed.
Actually is 2 conscript units and 4 archer units.

Bandits:
6 units total.
Lead Unit: Major; Sub-Unit:Private - Medium HP.
Actually is 4 bandit units, and 2 archer units. The archer units are
bandits though, higher HP.

Bandit Riders:
4 units total.
Lead Unit: Mounted Sergeant; Sub-Unit: Privates on foot - High HP.
Not much for the cost of hiring, but they hit fast and hard.

Elite Guard:
4 units total.
Lead Unit: Lady Guard; Sub-Unit: Lady Guard - High HP.
Very damaging and aggressive than others.

Elite Unit:
6 units total.
Lead Unit: Mounted Major; Sub-unit: Sergeant on foot - High HP.
4 units are elite, 2 units are crossbow units.

Shamans:
2 units total.
Lead unit: Lady Guard; Sub-unit: Lady Guard - Low HP.
Like Elite Guard, except they attack by casting lightning and ice spells.
Good support.

Sorcerers:
2 units total.
Lead unit: Lady Guard; Sub-unit: Lady Guard - Low HP.
Like Elite Guard, except they attack by casting blast and poison spells.
Good support.

[Officer]:
Doubt you'd need this but it completes the list, you just hire the officer
to be your body-guard until he dies in battle. IF the officer under you
dies in battle, and you are near him, he leaves behind a meat bun. Brutal
tactic, but it does keep you alive.

The officer the player chooses will have a pre-set tactic. Such as:
Zhang He will have Tactical for his units.
Cao Ren will have Defense for his units.
Zhuge Liang will have Balanced for his units.

Choosing EXIT when playing Xtreme mode will save items for the player only
for Xtreme mode.
Not only that, but the game will save the player's status, so it keeps the
player's rank and abilities.
