Xun Gun originally served under Yuan Shao, but later shifted his allegiance to Cao Cao, where he served as Chancellor of Jinan (SGYY). His father was Xun Shu (Jihe), the Prefect of Langling. Xun Gun approved the marriage of Tang Heng’s daughter, Fu Gong Ming of Ru Nan, to his son, Xun Yu, when the later was only two years of age. Xun Yu was ridiculed by others for this (SGZ PSZ: Xun Yu).
