Biography
Bing Yuan, who became know for his integrity, travelled far in search of learning, after eight or nine years he was due to return home. As he didn’t drink wine, his teachers and fellow students prepared only rice and meat for the farewell party but Bing Yuan claimed he could feast just this once, sitting with them and drinking, after the whole day he was still sober.
Bing Yuan fled to Gongsun Du when the land fell into chaos and was given a lodging house always ready for him or for Guan Ning. Bing Yuan had naturally strict principles, he spoke out clearly to set things right, and everyone from Gongsun Du down was wary of him. Guan Ning warned that Bing Yuan would get himself in trouble, persuading Genju to return home.
Later, as a senior clerk in the Ministry of Works, refused the marriage of his dead child with the recently deceased Cao Chong.
