Differences Between Fact and Common Fiction

  • Historically, did not slay Yu She, Fang Yue or Pan Feng, none of whom appear in the histories.
  • Historically, was not sent to face the Coalition with an independant command. Instead, he was a minor officer under Hu Zhen and Lü Bu.
  • Did not kill or even pursue Zu Mao. Xu Rong pursued.
  • Was not killed by Guan Yu. Was killed in battle with Sun Jian by his troops.

Collaborative Works

Hua Xiong of Guanxi. Appointed Commander of the Valiant Cavalry by Dong Zhuo when he offered to kill the coalition officers.

Hisorically, Hua Xiong was Chief Controller under Lü Bu and Hu Zhen, who were sent to attack Sun Jian following his defeat by Xu Rong. The two were defeated, and Hua Xiong was killed in the fighting.
