  • Wasn’t executed by Yuan Shao but rather was executed by Cao Cao’s forces after battle [ZZTJ, SGZ]. The annotation from the Legend of Cao Man further this was at Xu You’s insistence after Cao Cao initially wanted to spare him [SGZ].
