The Destiny of an Emperor legacy was divided in the third installation with two successors. On one hand, Capcom created Destiny of an Emperor III, a deviation from their old role-play strategy into a realm that looks very much like Koei’s familiar Romance of the Three Kingdoms series. On the other hand, some fans created their own unofficial Destiny of an Emperor III, borrowing elements from various Squaresoft games while combining them with the general type of gameplay one would expect from Destiny of an Emperor III. Capcom’s release was featured on the Super Nintendo. The fan-made release was featured for the Sega MasterSystem. Both are featured here, on this page.

11/8/06: With this update, we introduce content on Capcom’s version of Destiny of an Emperor III, including an excellent Destiny of an Emperor III (SNES) English Playguide, and a collection of screenshots from the game. As Destiny of an Emperor III is similar to Koei’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms, you don’t need to worry much about storyline. Familiarize yourself with the menus, and you’ll be playing in no time, even though the game isn’t English.
10/30/06: For the longest time, these two often-forgotten games in the Destiny of an Emperor series have been overlooked by fans, and what little information we featured on them was confined to footnotes on the Destiny of an Emperor home page (now the Destiny of an Emperor I home page). Not long ago, we launched an original section for Destiny of an Emperor 2. Now, thanks in large part to Taishi Ci 2.0 and other LordYuanShu.com forum members, we are launching a dedicated Destiny of an Emperor III home page to compliment them. We hope you enjoy it as much as we think you will!
On this initial release we are featuring two goodies. First, Taishi Ci 2.0 has written a strategy guide for the Sega MasterSystem version of Destiny of an Emperor III. Though this game has not yet been translated to English, this is the first key for non-Chinese players to enjoy this wonderful game. Second, also thanks in large part to Taishi Ci 2.0, we have launched a Destiny of an Emperor III English Playguide, to help you understand the game mechanics and menu. Using these two tools, and the ROM featured on our game downloads page (also check the right-hand menu), you can enjoy Destiny of an Emperor III, even though English may be your only language. Finally, if you want to cheat like a dog, we’ve also included a cheat that can allow you to Start With 9,999,999 Gold.
