You are here: [ Home –> Games –> Destiny of an Emperor –> Chapter VI ]

On this page all officers found in Destiny of an Emperor from after the unificiation of Jing Zhuo up until Liu Zheng's defeat are listed. With each entry we list power, intelligence, soldiers (if they don’t progress with levels), attack and defense power, any tactics they will have as an enemy, their tactical potential as an ally, and how they can be hired (if possible).

Chapter VI – Liu Zheng’s Officers

Chapter VI begins after the unification of Jing Zhou, and ends with the defeat of Liu Zheng.

Fa Zheng
Str: 66, Int: 198, Men: 2965, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Fu Shui Castle (Battle)
(VS): Yan Re, Shui Lei, Tong Xian, Shui Jian, Jie Ce, Qi Shou
(Ally): Da Re, Hong Shui, Tong Xian, Shui Jian, Gui Huan, An Sha
Recruiting: Can be hired after a battle once you defeat Yan Yan at Fan Shui castle. Hire only if you either wish to remove him from the enemy officer pool, or if you have a use for someone with high intelligence in your lineup..

Gao Pei
Str: 172, Int: 88, Men: 2827, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Cheng Du Castle (Battle)
(VS): Lian Huo, Shui Tu, Chi Xin, Wuo Jian
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired after a battle once you defeat Liu Zheng at Cheng Du castle. Gao Pei is actually a decent officer, but you aren’t able to hire him in time. He is vastly inferior to Zhang Ren and Yan Yan, so if you need another Shu general search for one of them instead.

Huang Quan
Str: 65, Int: 165, Men: 2695, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Luo’s Gate (Battle)
(VS): Yan Re, Shui Lei, Tong Xian, Shui Jian, Jie Ce, Qi Shou
(Ally): Yan Re, Hong Shui, Tong Xian, Shui Jian, Gui Huan, Li Jian
Recruiting: Can be hired after you defeat him at Luo Castle’s first gate. You don’t need him as strategist and his power, intelligence, and soldiers are too low to make use of him in combat. Only hire if you want to remove him from random encounters..

Lei Tong
Str: 184, Int: 88, Men: 3110, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Cheng Du’s Gate (Battle)
(VS): None
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired after you defeat him at Cheng Du’s first gate. Lei is an excellent warrior, but he is only available just before you move on to Wu. If you are still low on soldiers and need a good warrior quickly he is a good choice. Yan Yan or Zhang Ren are better choices due to their intelligence which soon becomes more important in the game.

Leng Bao
Str: 180, Int: 70, Men: 2024, Att: 120, Def: 85
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Luo Castle’s Gate (Battle)
(VS): Lian Huo, Shui Tu, Chi Xin
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired after you defeat Huang Quan at Luo Castle’s gate. Even though he is available mid-way through the Shu campaign you may want to pass him up. He has great strength but his lack of soldiers and good intelligence not only set him behind a few other Shu generals that are already available, but may also make him less valuable then some of your own tiger generals.

Li Yan
Str: 90, Int: 160, Men: 2827, Att: 120, Def: 85
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Mian Zhu Guan Fortress (Battle)
(VS): Ye Huo, Shui Xing, Tong Xian, Shui Jian, Jie Ce, Qi Shou
(Ally): Yan Re, Hong Shui, Tong Xian, Shui Jian, Gui Huan, Li Jian
Recruiting: Can be hired in random battles after you defeat him at Mian Zhu Guan Fortress. Considering his late availability in Shu along with his low strength score, you have little reason to hire him. Strength is vital in Shu and balance between strength and intelligence is important in Wu. There are better choices.

Liu Ba
Str: 99, Int: 176, Men: 2569, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Mian Zhu Guan Fortress (Battle)
(VS): Yan Re, Shui Lei, Tong Xian, Shui Jian, Jie Ce, Qi Shou
(Ally): Yan Re, Hong Shui, Tong Xian, Shui Jian, Gui Huan, Li Jian
Recruiting: Can be hired in random battles after you defeat Li Yan at Mian Zhu Guan Fortress. Liu Ba isn’t available early enough to be useful to you, and his strength score is too low to be of much use in Wu. Hire only if you want to keep him out of random encounters.

Liu Kui
Str: 110, Int: 110, Men: 3262, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Liu Kui’s Fortress (Battle)
(VS): Ye Huo, Shui Xing, Chi Xin, Shui Jian
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired in random encounters after you defeat him at his fortress. His strength and intelligence are hardly worth mentioning, however, and make him essentially useless to you despite his soldier count. There’s no good reason to hire him.

Liu Xun
Str: 132, Int: 99, Men: 3110, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Mian Zhu Guan Fortress
(VS): Ye Huo, Shui Tu, Chi Xin, Wuo Jian
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired in random encounters after you defeat Li Yan at Mian Zhu Guan Fortress. Though he has a good troop count his strength and low intelligence makes him useless to you. As an enemy is isn’t a threat either, so there’s little reason to hire him.

Liu Zheng
Str: 110, Int: 110, Men: 4142, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Cheng Du Castle (Battle)
(VS): Ye Huo, Shui Xing, Chi Xin, Shui Jian
(Ally): N/A
Recruiting: Cannot be hired.

Lu Bu
Str: 255, Int: 40, Men: 7003, Att: 120, Def: 48
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Random Encounter (Battle)
(VS): None
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Cannot be hired.

Ma Chao
Str: 245, Int: 162, Men: 3262/Varies, Att: 120, Def: 85
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Luo Castle (Battle)
(VS): None
(Ally): None
Recruiting: When you defeat him at Luo Castle he will express his surprise at loosing the battle. Out of respect for your abilities in battle he will request that you allow him to join. You may turn him down if you like, but it would be a mistake. Not only does Ma Chao have excellent strength and good intelligence, but he also receives level ups. He is the last of the tiger generals.

Ma Dai
Str: 225, Int: 175, Men: 3110, Att: 120, Def: 85
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Luo Castle (Battle)
(VS): None
(Ally): None
Recruiting: When you defeat Ma Chao at Luo he will offer to join you out of respect for your abilities. If you choose to hire Ma Chao, which you should, Ma Dai joins with him and is the best general to have in your party at this time, his power, intelligence, and soldiers making him an ideal leader into Wu.

Meng Da
Str: 154, Int: 132, Men: 3589, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Fu Shui’s Gate (Battle)
(VS): None
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired after random encounters once you defeat him at Fu Shui’s Gate. He has a decent strength and intelligence, wonderful soldiers, and can be hired early in Shu. Now that you have most of the tiger generals though, and Pang Tong to lead you, you will most likely be better off keeping him out of your party and waiting for one of the other generals in this area with exceptional power.

Pang De
Str: 212, Int: 200, Men: 2965, Att: 120, Def: 85
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Location: Gui Yang Palace (Battle)
(VS): Da Re, Hong Shui, Yin Xian, Ji Mian, Yi Xin, Li Jian
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired, but not until you reach the Wei campaign at which point he appears in random encounters (being the only general in the game with this behavior). At that point his soldiers are too low for him to be useful at all, and he has no tactics as an allied officer.

Tao Qian
Str: 90, Int: 160, Men: 2226, Att: 120, Def: 85
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Fu Shui Gate (Battle)
(VS): None
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired in random encounters after you defeat Meng Da at Fu Shui Gate. His low strength and only decent soldiers makes him useless to you in combat, and as an enemy with low strength and no tactics he is mostly harmless. Don’t hire him, he’s all but free experience.

Wang Lei
Str: 135, Int: 132, Men: 2827, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Cheng Du Castle (Battle)
(VS): Ye Huo, Shui Xing, Chi Xin, Shui Jian, Cheng Nei
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired in random encounters after you defeat Liu Zheng at Cheng Du. With poor strength and intelligence he is useless as a member of your party at this point, and he doesn’t present much of a treat as an enemy. Leave him free for easy experience.

Wu Lan
Str: 180, Int: 99, Men: 2965, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Cheng Du’s Gate (Battle)
(VS): Ye Huo, Shui Tu, Chi Xin, Wuo Jian
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired after random battles after you defeat Lei Tong at Cheng Du’s gate. If you would like another powerful leader with decent soldiers to accompany you into Wu, but don’t feel like searching for Zhang Ren or Yan Yan, Wu Lan might be a good general to pick up and use.

Wu Yi
Str: 176, Int: 143, Men: 3589, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Cheng Du’s Gate (Battle)
(VS): Yan Re, Shui Lei, Chi Xin, Shui Jian, Cheng Nei, Qi Shou
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired after random battles once you have defeated Liu Zheng at Cheng Du. A decent strength score, good intelligence, and a wonderful troop count make Wu Yi a good officer to include in your party if you feel you need another meat shield entering Wu. If you are concerned of this, however, it may be better to search for Zhang Ren, Yan Yan, or save up some experience.

Yan Yan
Str: 207, Int: 154, Men: 3262, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Fu Shui Castle (Battle)
(VS): Yan Re, Shui Lei, Chi Xin, Shui Jian, Cheng Nei, Qi Shou
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired after random encounters once he has been defeated at Fu Shui Castle. Yan Yan is by far among the best officers available to lead you into Wu, falling just short of Zhang Ren’s intelligence and nearly as good as Ma Dai. If you get a chance to hire him you probably don’t want to pass it up unless you are high level.

Yang Huai
Str: 165, Int: 99, Men: 2965, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Fu Shui Castle (Battle)
(VS): Ye Huo, Shui Tu, Chi Xin, Wuo Jian
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired after random encounters once Yan Yan has been defeated at Fu Shui Castle. Though his strength is decent and his soldiers good, his intelligence is low and he falls short of matching Yan Yan. Search for the later instead if you need an officer.

Zhang Ren
Str: 207, Int: 165, Men: 3262, Att: 120, Def: 110
Chapter: VI (Liu Zheng in Shu), Fu Shui Castle (Battle)
(VS): None
(Ally): None
Recruiting: Can be hired after random encounters once you have defeated Liu Kui at his fortress. Zhang Ren is second only to Ma Dai in the Shu officer pool, and is available early. If you are struggling, find him in a random encounter. He is good enough to remain in your party through this whole area and will remain useful into Wu.
